“But I don’t know what the world is going to be like!” I hear you protest
If you have been reading my posts on becoming more focused, more self -aware and you’re starting to implement actions that will help you be more aware of your negative thoughts patterns that don’t serve you and implementing daily practices to help you stay more present then the following tips will be easy for you.
Why?
Because when you are present, more focused you are awakened to noticing things that are going on around you.
Things you wouldn’t notice staring you in the face if you were too busy in your head stressing over the trauma of it all.
Once you are awakened, you begin to pay attention to the breadcrumbs, the clues dropped along the trail to help you work out what to do next.
Everything moving forward to help you decide how to pivot and relaunch your business revolves around ONE WORD – “People”.
Take time to start observing and explore habits of people you know and don’t know.
It takes 21 days to formulate a habit and we have been locked down now for much longer than that.
Since lockdown what have you noticed either about yourself or other people?
For me I have noticed more videos are popping up all over the place either edited to be funny or inspiring sent to me in Messenger.
More strangers are reaching out to me on Facebook, I wonder why?
Are you finding taking the time to watch or read something longer than you did before? Maybe it’s the end to having to do video marketing of less than 2 minutes.
What are your new daily habits? Ask your friends what are the new daily habits that they are adopting as these habits will continue to exist in a post corona world.
Could you trial a new product or service for your customers to use now that involves them adopting it as a habit?
I’m noticing an insatiable appetite for knowledge and increased content sharing so I believe this is just going to be an expectation people will have that businesses provide.
If you have never integrated content this into your business, I would be doing it now in whatever format suits your business best.
Explore all the new technology that is coming out from new apps to virtual reality.
How could your business solve, assist or improve the gaps, the challenges that exist in the new emerging behaviour patterns?
As you have the conversations with others about their daily habits look for new emerging patterns of behaviour.
Better still find websites such as Finder that are tracking human reactions, changes to behaviour and opinions in real time to get a gauge of how the population in Australia is thinking and feeling.
What are businesses offering in the ad breaks they never offered before?
How are your friends and acquaintances reacting to the new offers?
Have lots of conversations around this with people you know, people you chat to on Facebook to see if they are loving it or hating it and for what reasons.
This will give you clues on how changing offers are being received by the market now in a lockdown situation. It will give you clues around what path you might consider taking with a new idea.
Analyse the reactions where you see push backs on methods of delivery or reactions to new ideas.
Will people get their jobs back post Corona or are they not wanting to go back?
If they are not wanting to go back, what are they thinking of doing once this is over?
Conversations around this often unlock some golden opportunities as to what they are thinking in planning. Maybe it will be to freelance or possibly learn a new vocation?
The one common denominator to safely navigating your business adaption moving forward is “people.”
Thinking about safety going forward so you don’t blow your dough on the wrong idea, the wrong delivery method, the wrong assumptions it’s a good idea to invest in businesses who have a people strategy.
A decision to work with someone to help you relaunch that knows human psychology inside out, has insights into consumer behaviour and has connections to others that may have insider knowledge or can bring you leads will pay off.
